ROCKVILLE- Phillip Ray "Bud" Brown, 83, of Rockville, Indiana passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 18, 2025.
He was born on April 23, 1941 in Clinton, Indiana the son of Joe and Anita Brown of Bellmore, Indiana.
Bud graduated from Union Township in 1959 the last graduating class of the school. He was a talented athlete and loved all sports-as a player, a coach, and a fan his whole life.
He spent his 37-year career at the Parke State Bank as a loan officer, branch manager and Vice President, retiring in 2004.
Farming and community were dear to him and every day began with coffee at the local restaurant with his friends. Above all, he loved his family dearly and never missed a chance to attend his grandkids events.
Bud is survived by his wife Nona Lynn Brown whom he married August 10, 1991.
He is also survived by his daughters, Janet (Bill) Clark of St. Roberts, Missouri and Kim Cooper of Rockville and son Doug (Lori) Brown of Rockville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Billy Clark, Megan Cooper, Tyler (Maddie) Cooper, Katie (Casen) Henn, Jenna Brown, Drew Brown and great granddaughter, Hallie Wilson, and beloved dog Maggie.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Travis Smith, his parents, and his sister, Shirley Phillips.
Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 25, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is 4-8 pm Monday at Gooch Funeral Home.
Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Parke Vermillion Humane Society, PO Box 293, Newport, IN 47933 in his memory.
