Obituary of Phillip Howard Danz
Phillip Howard Danz, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park, MN.
Phil lived a life full of laughter, music, and meaningful connections. A gifted drummer, he played in several bands and was affectionately known by some as the "human metronome." He also operated a luxury sedan service for several years, delighting in entertaining his passengers while ensuring they arrived safely at their destinations.
One of Phil's favorite places on earth was the cottages on Lake Lizzie in Pelican Rapids, MN, where he spent many cherished years since childhood. Eventually he was able to live out his dream of retirement while living on that very same lake. He found joy in hosting family and friends around the fire, swimming in the lake, boating, and canoeing down the river-always surrounded by teasing, laughter, and storytelling.
He was a beloved father, grandfather ("Bampa"), and great-grandfather.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Beth and Howard; his step-parents, Orlin and Velma; his step-son, Marshall; and his loving wife of 36 years, Cheryl.
He is survived by many who will miss him dearly, including his children: Lynnie (Julian), Terry (Tiffany), Stefanie, Tiara, Tiffany, and step-son Donnie. Grandchildren: Kelsie, Kasie, Sierra, Cierra, Alex, Alyssa, Mitchell, Will, Tristen, Skyler, and Noah. Great-grandchildren: Axton, Anders, Addelynn, Alice, Carson, and Marshall.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Northgate Church (7295 Sunwood Dr NW, Ramsey, MN 55303), with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will take place at a later date in Pelican Rapids, MN.
Flowers may be sent to Northgate Church in honor of Phil's life.
