Phillip Wayne Lovan

Phillip Lovan, age 76, passed to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 11, 2025. Phillip was born on September 19, 1948 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Doy and Martha Gunn Lovan. He attended the Kentucky School of the Deaf in Danville, Kentucky. Phillip worked for the Opportunity Center of Owensboro and later for LifeSkills of Bowling Green.
Phillip was friendly and enjoyed meeting new people, especially the deaf community. He used the video phone (VP) daily, connecting with friends. He earnestly wrote out of the Bible, filling many notebooks with scripture. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bowling Green where he enthusiastically participated in worship with the deaf ministry.
Phillip is preceded in death by his brother, James Larry Lovan and is survived by his sister-in-law, Verna Lovan, nephews, Gary Lovan (Manuella), Michael Lovan (Sherry) and niece, Valerie Bratcher and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service to celebrate Phillip's life will be held at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Saturday May 17, 2025 at 11:30 AM with David Tooley to officiate.
Burial to follow in the Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
