Obituary of Phillip Eugene Milstid
Phillip Eugene Milstid, 67, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday, Nov 29, 2024 after a two year battle with cancer.
Phillip was born in El Centro, CA. He grew up in Pensacola where he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandfather (and his grandmother's home cooking).
Phillip is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonnie and Rosetta Milstid and his brother, Ronnie Milstid.
Survivors include: his wife of 27 years, Carol; his son Billy; step daughter, Stephanie; step son Jared; father, Cecil; mother, Mary. Two siblings, Vicky Cheatham and David Milstid.
Phillip was a master auto mechanic for over 30 years. In 1996 he gained employment at Midas Muffler where he met the love of his life, Carol. In 1997 they were married and all of his co-workers called it the "marriage made at Midas". He had a straightforward way of expressing himself ( if he THOUGHT it, he SAID it) that could be off-putting to alot of people, but deep down he had a heart of gold and would help anyone if he could.
One memory that stands out: one day at work a bird flew into the shop and the other mechanics were throwing rocks at it. Phillip made them stop, caught the bird, made sure it was OK and put it back in a tree. He had a soft spot for animals, even his wife's cats (though he would NEVER admit it).
His favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting and later on running his RC cars with his brothers..and of course, spending time with his wife.
His favorite phrases? "I hate it for you", "it must suck to be you" LOL
One thing is for sure; if you ever met Phillip Milstid, you remembered him FOREVER.
