Phillip Paulson Jr., 76, of Brainerd, MN, passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2025, in Brainerd.
Phillip was born on April 22, 1949, to Phillip Sr. and Jean (Pitchford) Paulson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1972 during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Phillip dedicated 37 years to Brainerd Public Utilities, where he was a valued employee.
He was married to the love of his life, Kathy, for 54 wonderful years. Phillip was a devoted husband and served as the primary caregiver for Kathy during her illness for 13 years. Known as a quiet and devoted family man, Phillip cherished his grandchildren and treasured time spent with family.
Phillip is survived by his son, Chad (Kathy Toensing) Paulson; grandchildren Abigail and Wyatt Paulson; siblings Brad (Sue) Paulson and Janice Paulson; many nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law Fritz Bertelt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathy, stepfather Martin Dullum, and sister Georgia Heimer.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Halvorson-Taylor Funeral Home in Brainerd.
Phillip's quiet strength, loyalty, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
