Phillip Terry Peyton 78 of Shawnee passed away Friday April 4, 2025, at the Genesis Medical Center, Zanesville.
Terry was born, September 22, 1946, in Shawnee, the son of the ate Raymond and Harriett Jaynes Peyton.
Terry was a member of the first graduating class of Miller High School in 1964, shortly after he joined the U.S. Air Force serving until 1968. He was a retired employee of Structurlite Corp.; he enjoyed camping and fishing, building stock cars and pulling trucks; the father of two boys and one grandson, he found joy in being involved in their various activities.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Janice Durst Peyton, sons Phillip Peyton and Kevin (Kathryn) Peyton; grandson Christopher Peyton; sisters Gloria (Gary) Reed and Velma Warner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his infant sister Jo Ellen Peyton and his brother-in-law Buddy Warner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday April 10, 2025, at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee.
Interment: Shawnee Cemetery
Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Wednesday April 9, 2025, at the funeral home.
