Phillip “Tip” Bone of Farmington entered eternal rest on July 17, 2025, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 83. He was born on February 2, 1942, in Farmington, Missouri, to the late Arthur “Red” Bone and Margaret “Happy” (Hutchinson) Bone.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Barone) Bone; his children, Deborah (John) List, Dean (Rhonda) Bone, Jeremy Cavaretta, and Jesse Cavaretta; his grandchildren, Michel (Richard) Powers, Holly List, Johnathan (Carley) Dowdy, Logan Dowdy, and Zaden Halbrook; and great-grandchildren, Maddux Powers, Olivia Dowdy, and Eden Dowdy. He will be fondly remembered by extended family, friends, and all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Tip was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Ray Bone.
Tip had a remarkable career in the heavy equipment industry, traveling to 22 countries to troubleshoot production issues for CAT. He also played a key role in founding CAT’s Rock Mechanics Program and later owned and operated Renegade Construction Company in Farmington for 10 years.
A man of many talents and passions, Tip was a skilled graphic artist, known for his pinstriping work. He had a deep love for classic cars, muscle cars and drag racing. He was a member of New Heights Church in Farmington and a proud member of the Farmington Elks Lodge #1756 since 1963. Tip also founded the annual Farmington Elks Lodge Veterans Benefit Car Show, which will be held this year on September 20, 2025.
