Philomena Mary "Phyllis" (Larkin) Cogley, 51, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025. Born in Dublin, Ireland, on January 29, 1974, Phyllis was the beloved daughter of Phyllis (O'Rourke) Larkin and the late Michael Larkin.
Phyllis immigrated with her family to Massachusetts at the age of 15. At 18, she started working in real estate with her mother. At 28, she moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, with her parents and her two kids, Leah and Jack. It was there that Phyllis found her true calling in caregiving and embarked on a long and meaningful career in nursing.
She began working at South Port Square in Port Charlotte, where her compassion and leadership quickly led her to rise through the ranks and become a director. Later, she joined The Springs at South Biscayne in North Port, where she dedicated herself to memory care, a field in which her empathy and unwavering kindness made a profound difference in the lives of her patients and their families.
After her father passed, Phyllis returned to Massachusetts alongside her son Jack and her mother to be closer to her family where she resumed working in real estate. Though her surroundings had changed, her devotion to service, her warmth, and her boundless generosity remained the same.
Above all, Phyllis was a devoted mother to her two children, Leah and Jack Cogley. As a single mother, she raised her children with unmatched love, strength, and sacrifice, working tirelessly to give them a life full of security, encouragement, and opportunity. She was their guiding light, their biggest supporter, and their greatest source of comfort and inspiration.
Phyllis had a true zest for life and cherished time spent with loved ones. She enjoyed playing golf and racquetball with her family, watching movies, walking along the beach, and sharing laughter and stories. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed and loved, and she will be remembered for her beautiful heart and selfless nature.
She is survived by her children, Leah and Jack Cogley; her mother, Phyllis (O'Rourke) Larkin; her siblings, Michael Larkin, Patrick Larkin, Brendan Larkin and his wife Meghan Larkin, Michelle Larkin and her wife Elizabeth McCloskey; and many cherished nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and care that will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be held privately.
Memorial donations may be made in Philomena's memory to the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI).
Phyllis will never be forgotten. She lives on in the hearts and memories of all who loved her.
