Phyllis Elaine Hall Byers, 80, of Webster, North Carolina, was promoted to Heaven on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. She was reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents Herman and Blanche Hall and brother Christopher Hall.
Phyllis was a brilliant individual; she was proud of her work with kindergarten students, as an x-ray technician, and as an entrepreneur. Above all else she was a wonderful mom and was considered a second mother to many. An outstanding hostess, she was an excellent cook and event planner. The family’s most memorable moments were centered around her table, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her flawless commitment to ensuring every event was special with her delicious food and carefully placed decorations. Friends eagerly anticipated Phyllis’ traditional New Year’s Day gathering.
Left to cherish Phyllis’ memory are her loving husband Alton Byers of Webster, NC, their adored children Michael Byers (Laura) of Maggie Valley, NC, Melissa Byers of Bradenton, FL, Melanie Watts (Jeff) of Concord, NC, Michele Byers Parker also of Webster, NC, and Laura Flanders of Columbia, SC; and their precious grandchildren Tate, Justin, Lindsay, Hayley, Bayley, Crafton, Keanan, Sarahann and Elizabeth. In addition, Phyllis leaves behind her cherished brothers-in-law Calvin Byers of Wilmington, NC, and Barry Byers of Gastonia, NC.
Phyllis loved her family and friends; she will be dearly missed by all.
A memorial service to honor Phyllis' memory will be held at 2pm, Sunday, September 8, 2024, at First United Methodist Church of Sylva, North Carolina, with Rev. Karen Doucette, Rev. Mike Shuford, and Rev. Jessica Green to officiate. A visitation will be available one hour prior.
