Phyllis Hunnicutt Cagle

Phyllis Hunnicutt Cagle, 98, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late Paul Frederick Lancaster and Blumie Belle Ferguson Lancaster. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cagle was predeceased by her first husband, Reginald Gray Hunnicutt; second husband, Daniel Cagle; and sister, Ann Dwiggins.
Mrs. Cagle was a member of Trinity Avenue Presbyterian Church. She was a retired secretary to the principal Durham High School. Mrs. Cagle loved to workout at Curves and enjoyed line dancing at the Durham Senior Center. She was a very kind and caring person and donated to many worthy causes. She also had a great sense of humor.
Mrs. Cagle is survived by her daughters, Judith Hunnicutt Fowler (Tom), Etta Hunnicutt Stein (Al); son, Reggie Hunnicutt Jr. (Gigi); grandchildren, Tom Fowler Jr. (Karen), Alan Stein Jr., Jeremy Stein (Rhonda); and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Toby.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 13th at Trinity Avenue Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Katie Crowe officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church.
