Phyllis A. Cirelli, 73, a longtime resident of New Providence, NJ passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Phyllis was born on September 2, 1950 in Summit, NJ. She was the daughter of Nanette (nee Mazzucco) and John Cirelli. Phyllis grew up in New Providence and was a longtime resident until moving to Summit, NJ a few years ago. She was a graduate of Union County College where she received her degree in Nursing. Phyllis had a passion for helping those in need. She began her career as an LPN at Overlook Medical Center and focused her nursing profession on pediatrics with the office of Dr. John Vigorita, Stirling Pediatrics and Summit Pediatrics until her retirement. Phyllis was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time gardening and making jewelry. She loved animals and became a foster mother for dogs before their adoption in the Summit area.
Phyllis is survived by her loving mother, Nanette Cirelli, her cherished children, Matthew Lisiecki and Melissa Lisiecki Oksala and her husband Chris. She was the dear sister of Barbara Heasley and her husband Barry, John Cirelli, Jr., and Joanne Vigorita and her husband Dr. John Vigorita. Phyllis was blessed to have two adored grandchildren, Wesley Oksala and Lilah Oksala. She is also survived by her 6 nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her father, John Cirelli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace Church, 111 South St., New Providence, NJ. A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held following the funeral. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial.
