Phyllis P. Dockray

Dockray, Phyllis P. (nee De Vito), age 83, of Hawthorne, has passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Born and raised in Paterson, Phyllis had been a resident of Hawthorne for most of her life. A retired bus aide from the Hawthorne Board of Education, she enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and looked forward to cooking and hosting family dinners. Phyllis's greatest joy was raising her children and later spending time with her dear grandchildren. Throughout her life, Phyllis had always been happy to cheer on her children and grandchildren at their youth sporting events.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of 61 years of Bob Dockray. Loving mother of the late Robert Dockray, Jr. (2022), Eric Dockray and his wife Nicole of Toms River, Ryan Dockray and his wife Michele of North Haledon, and Corin Dockray of Hawthorne. Grandmother of Brianna Palmer and her husband Mark, Ricky, Ryan, Mason, Madison, Shea, Cole, Aidan, and Colin. Sister of Rose Cucciello. Predeceased by her three sisters, Gilda Moss, Carmela Dino, and Shirley Maggio. She is also survived by her several dear nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 6:00pm. Cremation will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
