Phyllis Jean Fanning "Dumaw" was born December 17, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Floyd Ernest Ward and Gladys Brown Ward.
It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Mom, Dumaw, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She passed away on January 16, 2024 from complications of Crohn's disease.
She was married to the love of her life Doyle Fanning for 56 years. She and Doyle together raised 6 children while building and operating Jerico Incorporated. Phyllis was a very intelligent, courageous, feisty, determined and loving woman who would fight to the end for anyone she loved. She also had a wonderful and sometimes warped sense of humor.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother and father and three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Doyle; daughters, Barbara Watson, Jerri Hargis and Kimberly Grant (Bob); sons, Darrel Fanning (DiAnna), Curt Fanning (Michelle), and Randy Fanning; grandkids, Jeremy Fanning (Niki), Jesse Hargis (Laura), Josh Grant (Tara), Morgan Grant (Troy), Lacy Hall (Justin), Candy Fanning (Thomas), and Desarai Fanning; a bakers dozen of great grandkids; a large host of friends, and Rascal "The Magnificent" Thunder Paws her beloved cat!
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Yanda & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, at Canadian County Cowboy Church located at 550 E. Main Street, Yukon, OK. Interment will follow at the Yukon Cemetery.
The family will be receiving visitors at Jeremy and Niki's home after the funeral and graveside services.
