Phyllis Harrison, a cherished member of the Mooresville community and beloved matriarch, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on May 4, 1951, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Phyllis brought joy to all who knew her through her unwavering spirit and infectious smile.
Phyllis dedicated many years of her working life as a server at Gray's Cafeteria in Mooresville, a role that allowed her to connect with countless patrons and friends. Her warmth and dedication carried her through her career, culminating in her retirement from St. Francis in Mooresville.
An avid Christian, Phyllis found great fulfillment in her faith and was actively involved in her church, famously known for being a part of the Prayer Warriors group. Her dedication to her faith was an integral part of her life, representing the love and hope she shared with those around her.
Phyllis had a variety of interests that brought her joy. She loved fishing and looked forward to her vacations in Florida. Michigan City held a special place in her heart, and she also enjoyed the thrill of gambling at the casino. These pursuits were a testament to her zest for life and her ability to find happiness in simple pleasures.
Phyllis is survived by her loving children, Angela Smith, Kelly Lahrman, Phillip Jones, Sherry Barron, and Ray Pinkiston. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Scotty Smith, Kane Smith, Rebecca Leitzman, Katie Bradshaw, Maddy Bradshaw, Destiny, Emily, Savannah, PJ, Hayleigh, Aleah, Sophia, and Reed, as well as her great-grandchildren, Isaac, Lilah, Braxton, Kinleigh, and Eleanor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Chadwick and Merle Frances Chadwick, her siblings Wanda, Floyd, and Bob Chadwick, and her grandchild AJ Barron. Phyllis' spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity, and faith.
Visitation services will be held on February 23, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, both taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home in Indianapolis, Indiana. The family welcomes all who wish to honor Phyllis’ remarkable life and legacy.
