Phyllis Ann Hush of Land O'Lakes, Florida, surrendered her life to our Lord on February 18, 2025, resting peacefully at home with family by her side. She was born to the late Elmer and Mattie Hunt on May 1, 1935, at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, NJ.
Phyllis was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she found joy in participating in the choir and the Sunshine Club. Her spiritual commitment and love for her community were evident in all her activities.
After graduating from high school in 1954, Phyllis embarked on a distinguished career with the United States Government. She initially worked at Raritan Arsenal for the Inspector of Naval Command. Through persistent dedication and ongoing training, she advanced from clerical positions to a senior role as a Contract Specialist in Management. Her career spanned over four decades, culminating in her retirement from the Defense Logistics Agency in October 1995, after providing more than 40 years of exemplary service.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Mattie Hunt, brothers James and
Ronald Hunt, sister Sylvia Joan Hunt, daughter Sylvia Dallas and son Troy M. Hush.
Phyllis cherished traveling with her mother and sister, creating unforgettable memories as they explored various European countries, Mexico, Canada, and their favorite destination, Aruba. The bond between them was unbreakable; where one was seen, the others were surely close by. Their adventures were a testament to the love and camaraderie they shared.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Charles V. Hush Jr., (wife Dawn), of Florida; her grandchildren, Sean Dallas, (wife Erica), Melissa M. Hush, and Christopher C. Hush; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brianna, Sadie, Kaylee and Michael. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and innumerable lasting friendships. Phyllis Ann Hush will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to her family and career, and the joy she brought to the lives of those who knew her. Her legacy of love, commitment, and adventure continues to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege to be part of her journey.
