Phyllis J. James

Phyllis J. James, 80, of Obetz, OH passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Born November 10, 1944 in Battle Creek, MI to Thomas and Edith M. (Jessie) Stewart. Phyllis was a devoted housewife, school room mother, avid crafter and cake decorator who raised her children and grandchildren in love. Survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward H. James of Obetz, OH; children, Sharon K Mullins, Ronald H (Jodi) James, Leisa A. (Dale) Rigsby; grandchildren, Zachary R (Kristi) Mullins, Mindy (Shawn) Coleman, Austin (Stephanie) McKay, Blake McKay; great-grandchildren Delaney, Asher, Oliver, Taylor, Railynn and Eli; brother, Rick Goodwin of Battle Creek, MI; sister, Pat Austin of Lonestar, TX, and many nieces/nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Gladys Wasmundt (née. Deskins) who raised her; parents Thomas Stewart and Edith Goodwin (née. Jessie); granddaughter Brandy Rigsby; sister Mickey (Richard) Halsey, and siblings Sherry Goodwin, Carol Long and James Goodwin of Battle Creek, MI. Family will receive family and friends on Monday, February 3 at 12:00PM at MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME in Groveport, OH. Funeral service will be 1:00PM at the funeral home, with Reverend Matthew Leslie from Judah Tabernacle officiating. A graveside service and burial will be held at Obetz Cemetery.
