With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Phyllis Jean King, 86 of Sheffield Village, OH. She passed away on August 16, 2025, after a reoccurring health condition. She was born July 18, 1939, in Lorain, OH to the late George and Luella Lowe. Her remarkable life began working as a telephone operator, then married becoming a part time housewife. She moved out west with her family including her three children. She lived there for years working in school cafeterias as a cook; as well as working in a pizza business making pizza (she LOVED pizza). After some years, she came back east, where she worked for B.F. Goodrich. She retired early, but she needed to stay busy, so she went to work for the Little Lighthouse Learning Center. There she was a cook for the kids, but she eventually left there to stay home again. Phyllis was a compassionate caretaker who dedicated her life to helping others. Her family was very special to her, and that included extended family. She blessed others with both her generosity and her willingness to lend a hand. Phyllis was there in anyway imaginable, whether that was picking up a hammer to help build, or run errands with or for her family. In her more recent years, she enjoyed volunteering her time at the Lorain Senior Center. She cherished the time she spent with friends there, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met through the years. She was loved very much, and her laughter and smile will be dearly missed by all. Phyllis is survived by her three children, Jeanne (Robert) Stevens, GaryT. King Jr. and Jennifer King; grandchildren Eric (Jennifer) King, Emily King, Brandon (Selena) King, Ryan Glass, Sean (lzzie) King and Zsahnae King; 12 great grandchildren; siblings Margaret Black, Richard (Ann) Lowe and Janet Mazzoni. She is preceded in death by her siblings Eleanor Kuehn, Chuck Lowe and Joan Zavada. In honor of Phyllis, a memorial picnic will be held at a later date.
