Phyllis C. Kuehnemund

Phyllis C. Kuehnemund was born in Hampton Twp., MI on October 25, 1933 to the late Frank and Lena (Dumais) Neview. She passed away on February 15, 2023 at her son's house (Bruce & Julie) where she has been living for the past 3 years and was on hospice for the last week and half. Phyllis has been cared for and surrounded by family and will be missed by her family on earth. She is no longer in pain and she'll be surrounded by her family and friends in heaven.
Phyllis was a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bay City. She married Ronald A. Kuehnemund on February 23, 1951 and he preceded her in death January 25, 2019. Phyllis lived in the same house on the beach from 1955 to 2020. She retired from the Bangor Twp. School System in 1996. (She loved to cook for kids.) She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and writing poetry and was published in 1994 in Treasured Poems of America. Phyllis has enjoyed cooking with her son's family for the past 3 years and also feeding the many dogs and cats at her son's house.
Surviving family include her sons and their wives Ronald J. and Theresa, Bruce and Julie, 4 grandchildren: Cynthia, Karen, Kraig and Stephen, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Beatrice, Myrtle, Frank, Fred, Russell, Wendell, Esther, Donald, Hial and Madeline (Madge).
Funeral and committal services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Killinger will officiate. Private burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church. Visiting hours will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
