Phyllis Leitch, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, in Attica, Michigan. Born on March 12, 1932, in Bremerton, Washington, Phyllis's life was a testament to her intelligence, strength, and unwavering commitment to her family.

Phyllis's early years in Bremerton were filled with the warmth of a large family. She was a cherished sibling amongst her brothers and sisters. Her parents, Phillip and Ruth (Pauley) Sharick, instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience that she carried throughout her life. Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving parents and siblings Eugene, Bill, Bob, Melvin, Ann, Bonnie, Evelyn, and brother Bill Cornell. Their memories remained a guiding force in her life.

Her sense of duty led her to serve proudly in the United States Navy, where she not only defended her country but also forged lifelong friendships and honed her innate leadership skills. Phyllis's service was a period of her life that filled her with great pride and a sense of accomplishment.

After her military service, Phyllis's life was further enriched by her beloved children, Linda (David) Helm and Rick (Laura) Leitch. She found joy and purpose in her role as a mother, guiding her children with a gentle hand and a sharp mind. Her family grew to include five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable happiness. Phyllis was a central figure in their lives, providing love, wisdom, and the occasional card game challenge.

Her brothers, Ed (Darlene) Sharick and Jack (Sally) Sharick, along with many nieces and nephews, held a special place in her heart, particularly her special nephew Ryan Sharick, who shared many cherished moments with his aunt.

Phyllis's home was always a hub of activity and warmth, where family and friends gathered to share stories, laughter, and the occasional competitive card game. Her love for these simple pleasures was infectious, and she was often the life of the party, ensuring everyone felt included and cherished.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI., at a later date as well as a Celebration of Life. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Share memories, condolences, and pictures with the family at www.jansenfuneralhome.com.
