Phyllis Marie Lemire

Obituary…Rochester…Phyllis Marie Lemire, 86, formerly of 21 McKinley Street, died Thursday. May 5, 2005, at Rochester Manor, following a period of declining health.

She was born in Abington, Mass. on September 25, 1918, the daughter of John Crowley and Rose Constantineau. Prior to moving to Rochester in 1946, she had lived in Lowell and Chelmsford, Mass. and in Somersworth, during her teen years. She was a graduate of Somersworth High School in 1936, and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester.

Mrs. Lemire proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She had worked for Fineman Brothers in Rochester for over 15 years.

She was the last of 11 children in her family. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Raymond Lemire, in 1989.

Surviving family members include a son, Stephen A. Lemire and his wife Catherine of Dover; two daughters, Janis R. Albee and her husband Warren of Cape Neddick, Maine and Lorna J. Landry of Bow; five grandchildren, Spencer Albee, Jesse Blais, Katherine Albee, Allison Landry and Lisa Landry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation at H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main Street, Rochester will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Rochester. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. It has been suggested that memorial donations be directed to Strafford County Homemakers. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
