Phyllis Gail Mayfield, 78, of Villa Rica, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, October 17, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1947, the daughter of the late Robert "Dick" Carlton Mayfield and the late Annie Deal Mayfield.
Phyllis was a 1965 graduate of Douglas County High School. She had a career with J.O. King, Inc. for more than thirty years. She was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville. Phyllis had many hobbies that included word puzzles and word searches, but most of all she enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Regina Mayfield of Villa Rica and Shirley and Larry Hollingsworth of Commerce, Georgia; nephews, Nathan Hollingsworth (Nicole) of Gillsville. Georgia, Aaron Hollingsworth (Donna) of Commerce, Georgia; five great-nephews and one great-niece.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
