It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phyllis Jean (Neil) Nicolini. Phyllis was born on Friday the 13th of May 1932 to Edward Victor (Vic) and Olive Hibschman Neil in Mishawaka, IN where she lived her entire life. Phyllis lost her father at the age of nine when he was 35. Her mother remarried and she was overjoyed to have a sister, Judith (Werner) Kuzmich. Phyllis attended Mishawaka schools for 12 years, graduating from Mishawaka High School in 1950. In May of 1951, Phyllis married Joseph Anthony Nicolini in the St. Bavo rectory where they remained members throughout their lives. They went on to have four children. Phyllis was a devoted wife to Joseph for 73 years before his passing in 2024.

Phyllis is survived by her four children, Gregory (Pam) of Granger, Julie of Charleston, SC, Lisa (Pat) of Grayslake, IL, and Jeffrey of Mishawaka, nine grandchildren Ian (Collete) and Shelby (Greg), Lindsey and Lisa (Coulson), Tim (Ellen) and Niall, and Jena (Donny), Becca (Blake), and Greg (Kayla), and sixteen great-grandchildren, along with her sister Judy (Hubert), sister-in-law Doris, and her nieces and nephews. Phyllis remained close to her in-law nieces, nephew and her extended family members.

Phyllis worked various jobs throughout her life, including 20 years at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in mammography. She and Joe also enjoyed traveling as they followed Notre Dame football and visited family out of state.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Steet, Mishawaka from 4-7p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, at 11a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W 7th St, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
