Phyllis B. Popson of Orlando, FL, passed away on February 15, 2025. She was 81 years old.
She was born in White Plains, NY, on March 12, 1943. She will forever be missed by her husband of nearly 60 years, John Popson, of Orlando; her daughter Lisa Downey and son-in-law, Richard Downey, of Melbourne Beach, FL; her daughter Allyson Baughman and her partner, Scott Alexanderson, of Boston, MA; and her daughter Karen Popson and her partner Dave Tozeski, of Portland, ME. Phyllis was preceded in her death by her brothers, Thomas, Steven, and Donald. She is also survived by her brother, Michael of Merritt Island, FL, and sister, Sue Stroud, of New Albany, MS.
She is loved and will be missed by countless nieces and nephews as well. Phyllis worked in the travel industry for most of her professional life, having roles at Eastern Airlines, the Walt Disney Co., WorldSpan, and Hertz. She and her husband, John, raised their family in Orlando, FL, and they have lived in the same neighborhood for over 46 years. In recent years, she loved to sit in the driveway in the evenings and talk with neighbors passing by. Phyllis will be remembered as a passionate person, with a strong faith in God, and a wicked sense of humor.
