Phyllis Post Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dykstra Funeral Homes Downtown Holland Chapel on Jun. 16, 2025.
Phyllis Post, 93, passed away peacefully in Grand Rapids Michigan on June 15, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Rev. Lynn Post, and her brother Roger (Jenny) DeWeerd. She is survived by her children Bill (Ruth) Post, Matt (Kris) Post, Jane (Jon) Montgomery, and her brother Jim (Roxanne) DeWeerd. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren!
Phyllis was born in Holland Michigan in November 0f 1931. She graduated from Holland High School in 1950, and married Lynn Post in 1952. Together the young couple lived at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola Florida where Phyllis supported Lynn as he served honorably during the Korean War. After two years they returned to Holland where Phyllis earned a teaching certificate from Hope College. Throughout her life, Phyllis strove to worship and serve the Lord. She grew up in Fourth Reformed Church, later becoming a member of First Reformed Church, Immanuel Community Reformed Church (Lansing), and two churches in the state of Washington before her final membership at Trinity Reformed Church. Phyllis held numerous positions, most often employed as a teacher, secretary, accountant or administrator. She also welcomed the duties inherent as a minister's wife, and she carried them out with a sincere passion for sharing the Word of God.
Friends and family will remember Phyllis's contagious laugh, thoughtful gifts, delicious meals, card-playing skills, beautiful singing and her warm inviting home. Her pride and joy though, was her family. She loved to visit with them, tell others about them, display pictures of them, and she treasured the opportunity for sleepovers! She will be missed on this earth, but will remain forever in our hearts.
Phyllis's family will hold a private celebration of her life later this summer.
Donations in her memory can be made to Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids.
