It is with great sadness that we announce that Phyllis June Riedel, 96, of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 10, 2025 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a battle with breast cancer and dementia.

Phyllis was born on May 16, 1929 to Grace and John Hamberger. After graduating from Dallastown Area High School, she spent most of her adult life being a mother and grandmother. She resided in the Dallastown area until entering Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

On August 23, 1952, Phyllis was married to Meryl Riedel. She had three children named Bonnie Stein, Barry Riedel, and Judy Harpel. Her grandchildren are Karen Snyder, Kathy Coleman, Kevin Stein, Jessica Harpel, and Benjamin Harpel. Phyllis also enjoyed her six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Susan Hamberger was the only sister to Phyllis.

The former Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown, Pennsylvania is where Phyllis was a joyful member for many years. She always loved shopping, going out to eat, and spending time with family.

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents John and Grace; husband, Meryl; son, Barry; daughter, Bonnie; and sister, Susan. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Harpel; son in law, Richard Stein; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

A service to honor Phyllis will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home in Dallastown with Pastor David Stough officiating. A viewing will begin at 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service with a private interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
