Phyllis I. Ronan, a beloved caregiver and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on September 11, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Phyllis touched the lives of many with her caring personality and her remarkable ability to understand the needs of others. Known as a walking living angel, she dedicated her life to helping those around her.
Phyllis devoted a significant part of her career to serving as a caregiver at Wesley Hall Nursing Home and was also a committed member of the Sisters of Charity. Her colleagues and the families of those she cared for will remember her for her willingness to help anyone in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and kindness.
A proud graduate of Aiken High School, Phyllis cherished her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was the loving wife of Dan Ronan for 57 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful family that included their children: Dan (Jennifer), Greg (Nicky), Mandy (Steve) Watson, Becky (Jason) Forte, and Brittney Ronan. Phyllis derived immense joy from her role as a grandmother to 16 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love and care.
Her siblings, Bob (Brenda) Addis, Lester (Lea) Addis, and Greg (Tina) Addis, share fond memories of their sister, who was a source of inspiration and support in their lives. She also enjoyed the company of numerous nieces and nephews, cherishing the bonds that family brings.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Charlotte Addis, as well as her siblings Donald Addis, Linda (Ron) Jones, Gloria Caufman, Mart (Don) Addis, Billie Sue (Chuck) Huckleberry, Charlene (Bill) Woody, Victor (Darlene) Addis, and William (Pam) Addis. Their spirits will forever be intertwined in the warmth and love Phyllis shared throughout her life.
Outside of her professional commitments, Phyllis found joy in simple pleasures like walking and camping, and she was an excellent cook, often filling her home with delightful aromas and warmth. Her proudest accomplishments included her long and loving marriage to Dan and the nurturing of her children and grandchildren, all of whom carry pieces of her heart.
Phyllis’ memory will be honored with a visitation on May 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM, both held at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi in Cincinnati. Interment will take place shortly after, at St. Joseph New Cemetery.
Phyllis I. Ronan leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have crossed her path.
