Phyllis Kay (Bryan) Ryals, age 81, resident of Coweta departed this life on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in Coweta, Oklahoma. Phyllis was born on October 10, 1944, in Coweta, Oklahoma and was the daughter of George Severn and Mabel Susanna (Campbell) Bryan.
Phyllis was a graduate of Coweta High School Class of 1961 in Coweta, Oklahoma. She married Lynford Clifton Ryals on December 31, 1964, in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Throughout the years Phyllis worked in the Microfilm department at Metropolitan Life Insurance and as a data entry operator at Telex. She loved to witness to people about the Bible. However, no job compared to the love of being a mother for Rachel, Steve and Phillip and wife to her husband Lyn. They will fondly remember her reading all the time, her delicious cooking, and her baking, especially those pies, she could make just about any pie you asked for and it was incredible but pecan was her specialty. She also had a creative artistic spirit that she expressed through painting and drawing. She would often just sketch a picture in a notebook on a whim while sitting watching TV then thinking it was terrible but it would impress everybody that saw it.
Phyllis is survived by her three children: daughter Rachel Sudduth and husband Kenneth, of Coweta, OK; son Stephen Ryals and wife Amy, of Bartlesville, OK; son Phillip Ryals and wife Amanda, of Austin, TX; Six Grandchildren: Aaron Sudduth, Mikayla Nguyen and husband Eric, Noah Ryals, Cade Ryals, Zachary Sheppard and wife Meghan, Savannah Rahm and husband Matthew; eight great grandchildren: Harrison Sudduth, Lauren Nguyen, Klay Sheppard, Oliver Sheppard, Charlie Rahm, Copeland Rahm, Callahan Rahm, Rosie Rahm; and three sisters: Gail Ice and husband Eddie, Barbara Wolfe and husband Steve, and Anita Norton.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Lynford Clifton Ryals, mother Mabel Susanna (Campbell) Bryan, father George Severn Bryan, and Brother Henry “Buddy” Bryan.
Her wishes were to be cremated, and a private memorial service will be held.
