Phyllis Smith Sharples, 91, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at home. She was born on July 6, 1932, in Kingston, daughter of the late John and Mary (Diamond) Smith, the youngest of 9 siblings. Phyllis was married to the late Harold Sharples.
She loved watching the NY Mets, playing the piano, St. Patrick's Day (her favorite holiday), and animals. Phyllis was a parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church in Kingston.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Teri (Paul) Zweifel, Thomas (Cheryl) Macholdt, Deb Gallo, Judith Smith, Gary Smith, Jerry (Kathy) Smith, Patricia Smith, Donna (Serge) Samouel, Tony (Kim) Turck, as well as many dear great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Kathryn, Leo, Richard, Eleanor, Daniel, William, Betty, and Helen.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral procession will form at 9:45am on Friday, March 22, 2024, and will then proceed to St. Mary’s RC Church, 160 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401 where at 11am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston.
