Phyllis Jean Thayer beloved Mom, passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 9, 2024. She entered this world on December 28, 1933 in Richwood WV. She is survived by son Bill Barber and wife Margie. She is also survived by four step-children; Lynn Thayer, Lisa Lueras, Barbara Pastore and Chuck Thayer from Clinton, IL. She is survived by many grandchildren and great-children who she loved. She will be dearly missed by her best friend, Jamie and niece Naomi.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Larry Thayer and her parents Carl Williams and Hazel Clarkston.
Phyllis graduated from Richwood High School Class of 1951; to which she attended her 40th and 50th class reunions. She retired from Civil Service in 1989. Phyllis and her husband Larry enjoyed traveling and ballooning. She loved life, loved laughing and loved meeting people.
Phyllis was involved in working with Alzheimer’s; Multiple Sclerosis ACLOA and Ballooning.
The family would like to express their gratitude to everyone at Morada Assisted Living and Abode Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness.
Rest in peace Mom, you will always be missed and remembered.
A memorial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 7th at French Funerals and Cremations, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, per mom’s request, memorial contributions to the charity of your choice
