Phyllis Thompson

Phyllis Thompson, age 75, of Dover, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. A daughter of the late Phillip Earl and Bethena Elmireta Townsend Campbell, she was born August 13, 1935 in Inglewood, California. She was a former social worker in the state of Maryland and was a member of Price Grove Assembly of God, where she was active in the WWMC group. She was also preceded in death by a set of infant twins. Survivors include her husband, John Thompson; two sons and daughters-in-law: Nathan Earl and Irene Stroman and Tim and Brendie Stroman, all of Dover; a daughter and son-in-law, Natalie Faye and Larry Whicher of Russellville; 16 grandchildren: Christina and her husband, John Thomas, Hannah, Victor, Alex, Ashley, Timmy, Nathan Earl Jr., Tonya and her husband, Jimmy, Trisha and her husband, Jason, Michelle, Greg, Samantha, Michelle, Yancy and his wife, Jessica, Roddy and his wife, Tina and Tiffinay and her husband, Steve; and a number of great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Kenny Partain. Burial will be in Goates Cemetery at Scottsville, by Shinn Funeral Service. Active pallbearers will be Tim and Nathan Stroman, Larry, Victor and Alex Whicher, J. T. Reinold and Nathan Stroman Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Jim Allen. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 5 to 6 P.M., at the funeral home.
