Phyllis S. Thorngren, 87, of Silvis passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Services will be private.
Phyllis was born January 25, 1938 in Carney, OK the daughter of Willard C. and Edith M. Cypert. She married Daniel Thorngren August 1, 1959 in Edmond, OK. She was an avid gardener in her younger days and along with her late husband was a master gardener. She also was a quilter and made quilts for each of her grandchildren for graduation and wedding gifts. She enjoyed ceramics for many years and loved hand painting birds and flowers on ceramic pieces and gourds.
Survivors include her sons Dan Jr. (Melissa) Thorngren, Paul (Melinda) Thorngren, and David (Leslie) Thorngren; grandchildren Dr. Dan (Amanda) Thorngren III, Joseph Thorngren, Jordan Thorngren, Kyle Thorngren, Cassandra (Connor) Scott, Emily (Nick) Roman, and Paul K. (Baylie) Thorngren; great grandsons Beau, Hayes, and two on the way and a sister Donna Cypret of Plano, TX.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Randy Cypert and Ron Cypert.
