Phyllis Elaine Thygesen, daughter of Edgar and Lois (Hardy) Miller, was born August 27, 1934, in Audubon, Iowa, and left the troubles of this world behind, November 16, 2024, in Mexico, Missouri, at the age of ninety years old.
Phyllis made a profession of faith at a young and she was a longtime, active, and faithful member of the Jehovah's Witness and lived her life accordingly. She loved teaching others about the Bible.
On September 16, 1955, Phyllis was united in marriage with the love of her life Wayne Leroy Thygesen. To this union was born five children. Phyllis and Wayne spent sixty wonderful years prior to his passing on July 28, 2016. In 1979, Phyllis and Wayne moved to Lebanon, Missouri, where they raised their family. Phyllis worked in her home as a babysitter for many years until retiring in the early 90's. In 2014 she moved to Mexico, Missouri, where she remained until her passing.
Phyllis had a love for the outdoors. She enjoyed bird watching from her porch swing and was known for her green thumb. She enjoyed tending to her flowers. However what she most enjoyed was time spent and memories made with her family.
Phyllis is survived by one son, Kirk Thygesen and his wife Lorri, of Audubon, Iowa; three daughters, Kim Cansler and her husband Tony, of Keota, Iowa, Kay Thygesen, of Lebanon, Missouri, Korrie Helling and her husband Brad, of Mexico, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Her husband Wayne Thygesen, and one son Kevin Thygesen.
Those who knew Phyllis will forever cherish the memories they shared together. She will be greatly missed.
