Obituary
Phyllis Jean Williams, affectionately knowns as "Jean", was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 7, 1960.
Phyllis received her primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. Employed in the hospitality industry, she worked for the Westin Hotels for five years.
Having professed a belief in Christ, Phyllis was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on July 13, 2014.
Phyllis was a very loving and caring person. She was also "feisty." She relished spending time with family and friends. She loved taking pictures and was always camera ready. All of her loved ones knew she could fry some chicken. She was always willing to help anyone and stood with her children and grandchildren, whether they were right or wrong.
Phyllis departed this earthly life on July 10, 2023. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Takia Williams; mother, Celestine Williams; three brothers, twin Phillip, and Michael and Rodney Williams, and sisters, Patricia Williams and Wanda Williams-Tate.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Tyrone L. Williams (Keda) and Damon D. Meeks; daughter, Keonna Williams; sisters, Janice C. William, Teresa K. Cullens, and LaSandra R. Hughes; brothers, Calvin Hughes (Mareella), Timothy Hughes, Archie Jackson, Jr., and Burt Jackson; stepdad, George Hughes; special friend, Thomas Rivers; grandchildren, Montreal Walker, India Kemp, Alexis Williams, Tyrone L. Williams, Jr., Demonta Williams, Stephanie Smith, and Khari Williams; two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends.
