Mr. Pierce Lloyd Swing, Jr., 82, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born February 21, 1944, in Caldwell County, NC to the late Pierce Lloyd Swing, Sr. and Edith Mae Hoffman Swing.
Mr. Swing is survived by his wife, Robin Swing, sons, Pierce (“Dusty”) L. Swing III (wife Mitzi Swing), Derrick Swing (wife Erika Swing); daughters, Shanna Swing Leynes (husband John Leynes) and Melanie Swing Norman (husband Paul Norman). Eight grandchildren, Josh, Joe, Carson, Avery, Sebastian, Izel, Oliver, and Lizzie. And three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jack, and Jason
Pierce was a man who truly never met a stranger. He had a rare gift for seeing the good in everyone, and his warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
After moving to Lewisville, Pierce began his career with Piedmont Airlines, where he quickly became known and loved by his coworkers, many of whom adored him for his genuine spirit and easygoing nature. He continued his career through the US Airways merger, dedicating 36 years to the aviation industry before taking early retirement.
Pierce shared a beautiful life with his wife of 25 years, Robin, who was truly his forever love. In his final days, Robin cared for him with unwavering devotion, a reflection of the deep bond they shared.
He was an incredibly proud father to his four children—Dusty, Derrick, Shanna, and Melanie—each of whom he admired deeply for the accomplished, capable individuals they have become. He spoke often of his pride in them, and his love for his children was evident.
Pierce found joy in the simple things—spending time in his yard, gardening, mowing, and taking pride in keeping it beautiful. He loved sports and remained active, playing in some form well into adulthood.
Known and loved by so many throughout the town of Lewisville, Pierce’s presence will be deeply missed. His kindness, his pride in his family, and his genuine love for others will forever be remembered.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Forsyth Humane Society.
