Pierre "Pitou" Boucher

Mapleton - Pierre Leo Boucher "Pitou", born 0ct 25 1934 passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Hospice care. The son of the late Marie (LaVoie) Boucher and the late Ligoire Boucher of St. Rose, Quebec, he passed away surrounded by his family, including his wife of 67 years, Jeannine (Berube) Boucher.
A manufacture by trade, Leo was born and raised Catholic, a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus in Presque Isle. Leo received the honor of Knight of the Year in 1980. Leo loved his family and friends with all his might. He was an avid hunter, a prolific basket weaver, and a true outdoorsman who would teach anyone who wished to learn about the beauty of Maine Forestry.
Leo is survived by his wife Jeannine, his children and children-in-law Carol and Everett McFarlane, Jeannot and Jennifer Boucher, Daniel "Dan" Boucher, Riki and Wendy Boucher, and Norman and Bird Boucher. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren, Amanda McFarlane, Adam McFarlane (his partner Jessica James), Justin Boucher, Allison Hopper (her husband Dale Hopper), Bryson Brown (his wife Haley Brown), Daniel Boucher Jr., Brien Boucher (his wife Melinda Boucher), Lucas Boucher (his wife Kristen Boucher), Jason Boucher (his wife Emily Boucher), and Wesley Boucher. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren that he adored.
Leo is also survived by his youngest sister Marcelle Michaud, brother Regent Boucher (and his wife Andrea Boucher), Sisters-in-law Louise Boucher, Flora Boucher, Gesisele St-Amand, Jacqueline Marquis, and many nieces and nephews of whom he loved (including his God children Paula Belanger and Marco Corbin).
Leo is predeceased by both of his parents, his brothers Regis Boucher, Lawrence Boucher, Claude Boucher (his wife Damey Boucher), Rino Boucher, sister Geraldine Cyr (her husband Gerald Cyr), brother-in-law Benoit Michaud, sister-in-law Denise Corbin, and his daughter-in-law Rebecca Boucher.
The family would like to thank the nursing and medical staff of Northern Lights Hospital, Caribou and Presque Isle Nursing Home, and Leisure Garden for the care that was provided to Leo in his final year.
Friends and family are invited to call 10 am-11 am Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Presque Isle, where a Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM. A private family interment will take place later this spring. The family invites relatives and friends to a time of remembrance and reception at the Church Fellowship Hall, immediately following the service.
