I am so sorry to hear about Pierre's passing. I haven't spoken to him in many long years, but I always remembered him fondly and feel a profound loss knowing that I won't see him again in this life. He was one of the first people I met at college, and I can't think of Madonna Hall or all the good times had there without thinking of him. He was a prince among men and will be dearly missed by all who were graced to know him.

I remember visiting my cousin Sue's family when Pierre was a little boy just starting reading. I told him he had to get the Frog and Toad series which he did. He sure came a long way in education from that one happy day! Pierre being very respectful addressed me as cousin Andrea. Love to all

E come giga e arpa, in tempra tesa
di molte corde, fa dolce tintinno
a tal da cui la nota non è intesa,
così da´ lumi che lì m´apparinno
s´accogliea per la croce una melode
che mi rapiva, sanza intender l´inno.
(Par. 14.118-23)
(And just as harp and viol, whose many chords
are tempered, taut, produce sweet harmony
although each single note is not distinct,
so, from the lights that then appeared to me,
out from that cross there spread a melody
that held me rapt, although I could not tell.)

Pierre was one of a kind. Although we lost touch over the years, we never forgot him. We are saddened by this news, and are so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry, Scott and Susan. While living in Houston, I enjoyed many performances at the Alley - always conscious that the wonderful sound ambience was created by Pierre. What a great gift he gave to so many with his talent.
I wish I could be for the service and give you a hug,
