Premila K. Patel, of Somerset, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 90. Born in Mulund, Maharashtra India, she came to the United States in 1997. She lived in Edison before moving to Somerset in 2002.
Before retiring, Premila was a high school math and geography teacher in India. She enjoyed sewing and reading. She was spiritual and participated at the Gayatri Chetna Center in Piscataway. She most of all loved being with her grandchildren.
She’s predeceased by her husband Kanubhai Patel (d. 2017), and her son-in-law Rajan Menon.
Surviving is her sons and daughter-in-laws Raju and Varsha Patel of Somerset, and Amit and Binal Patel of India; her daughter Deepa Menon of India; her sisters Kusum Patel of London and Usha Patel of South Carolina; her brother Kanu Patel of India; and her beloved 6 grandchildren Pooja, Pratha, Prachi, Parth, Sneh and Siya.
A Pooja service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, at Franklin Memorial Park, Rt. 27 & Cozzens Lane in North Brunswick. Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St.-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. You may sign the online condolence “guestbook” at www.crabiel.com
