A Funeral Service officiated by Reverend Glenn Meaux will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan honoring the life of Prentis T Gaspard, 92, who passed away on February 23, 2025 at Eastridge Nursing Center.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Friday, February 28, 2025, from 8:00 AM until time of services. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Cemetery.
He is survived by his two sons, Donald (Eva) Gaspard of Forked Island and Jamie (Tammy) Gaspard of Cow Island; four daughters, Norma Hernandez of Kaplan, Patricia (Raywood) Bertrand of Kaplan, Rebecca (Marcus) Miller of Kaplan, and Cagney (Lucas) Trahan of Kaplan; four sisters, Loraine Breaux of Kaplan, Jeannete Hargrave of Nunez, Rose LeMaire of Cow Island, and Diana Guidry of Cow Island; one brother, Allen Gaspard of Cow Island; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Rosa Mae Gaspard; his parents, Lozan Gaspard and the former Lucille Hargrave; one sister, Marie Hoffpauir, two brothers, Nelson and Ronald Gaspard; and one son-in-law, Kelly Hernandez.
Pallbearers will be Andre' Arcement, Blake Miller, Kirk Trahan, Noah Gaspard, Brannon Menard, Micah Lombes, and Benjamin Richard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Eastridge Nursing Home and Hospice of Acadiana.
