Funeral services officiated by Deacon Bryan Istre will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan honoring the life of Murcy Hebert, 88, who passed away on November 23, 2025, at Vermilion Heath Care Center. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Vice, Cameron Landry, Shuggies Landry, Traylon Milson, Milfred Frederick Jr., and Kevin Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Ayden Milson and Emmet White.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. The visitation will continue Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 8:00 AM until the services at 11:00 AM.
He is survived by his three daughters, Phyllis Claire Hebert of Kaplan, Kimberly Ann Mosa of Crowley, and Lisa Dawn Abshire (Kirk) of Kaplan; one step sister, Fayetta Desormeaux of Kaplan; one half-brother, Ronald Hebert of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Nicole Landry (Kevin), Toby Vice (Ashley), Maranda Hughes (Brandon), Hailey Mosa, and Deyshia Hargrave; eleven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cameron, Shuggies, Kelsie, Alayna, Peyton, Braydon, Traylon, Ayden, Mason, and Rynn; and one great-great grandchild, Emmet.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline F. Hebert; his parents, Edith L. Hebert and Gladu Hebert; three brothers, Lloyd Hebert, Stanley Hebert, and Jimmy Dale Hebert; two sisters, Louise Landry and Dorothy Hebert; one son-in-law, Joseph Mosa; and his companion, Bertha Richard.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan (337) 643-7276.
