Kaplan, La - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Menard, 69, who passed away on November 9, 2025.
Mike worked in the Oil and Gas Industry as a Welder. His work was always detail oriented. He took great pride in his work, and it showed in the jobs he was doing.
In his free time, Mike could often be found on the back of his horse, working cattle, or riding on trail rides. He was also an avid deer hunter and enjoyed his time at his camp in Mississippi.
He is survived by his only son, Brannon Menard, whom he loved endlessly; his grandchildren, Kalem, Raelynne, Cannon, Lincon and Rosie; and his cousins, Susan Meaux, Ronald, Ravis, and Ricky Menard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JD Menard and the former Hilda Saltzman.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ann Meaux, Patricia Bertrand, and Vermilion Healthcare for the care they provided for Mike in his time of need.
