Funeral services for Preston Gamble, 86, of Chandler, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Richard Luna. Interment will follow at Chandler Memorial Cemetery in Chandler, Texas.
Mr. Gamble passed away on March 3, 2025, in Tyler.
James Preston Gamble was born on April 16, 1938, in Ben Wheeler, Texas, to R.D. Gamble and Mildred Fayrene (Johnson) Gamble. He graduated from Van High School and attended Tyler Junior College. Afterward, he served in the National Guard before embarking on a career with Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, where he worked for 36 years before retiring from the purchasing department. Preston enjoyed spending time in his yard and had a passion for singing. He performed with a local band for many years and was a devoted Elvis fan, known for his Elvis impressions. Above all, Preston was a dedicated family man, and caring for his family was his top priority, especially his beloved wife of 66 years, Wanda Marie (Taylor) Gamble. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Wanda of Chandler; two children, Sharon Horton of Tyler, Donna Cooper of Chandler; his grandchildren, Brandee Ratliff and husband Tony, Jonathan Horton, John Kitchens and wife Robbie, Michael Cooper, Dan Cooper and great grandchildren, Justin Ratliff and wife Amanda, Rylee Ratliff, Emilee Ratliff, Adalee Ratliff, Finlee Ratliff, Sullivan "Sully" Horton, Preston Kitchens, Audrie Anglin, Vance Cooper and Avery Cooper.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
