Preston Tilley Obituary
In addition to his parents, Preston is survived by his older brother, Ryker; great grandparents, George Tilley Jr. and Libby Tilley; grandmother, Lindsay Tilley; uncles, Ayman Raja, Ethan Goss, and Isaac Goss; aunt; Leylah (Jessica); and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roger and Beverly Bayes.
Preston Sterling captured the hearts of not only our family, but also of every single person that walked into his room. He truly had the best team of doctors, surgeons and nurses who did everything in their power to keep him here with us, but his heart condition was too much for his little self. Thank you to all of them!
The family truly believes Preston was too pure for this world, and was welcomed to heaven with the biggest open arms from God and both of Megan's parents ready to give him all of the love they couldn't give him down here on earth. They know he's no longer in constant pain and discomfort while fighting a battle he didn't sign up for.
Our family will never be the same, but Omar, Megan, and Ryker know they have the best forever guardian angel of them all.
Please keep Omar, Megan, and Ryker along with Omar's family in your thoughts and prayers as we continue this new course of life remembering our sweet baby boy. We love you forever Preston Sterling, and we will let your memory shine bright for the rest of our lives. Fly high baby boy. We'll see you again one day.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Clements Funeral Chapel in Durham with Pastor Charlie McNeill officiating.
A gathering will follow the service at Clements, from 3:00-5:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
