Obituary of Preziosa Anne Rapisarda
Preziosa Anne (nee Maranca) Rapisarda, aged 93, of Califon, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025. She was born on November 2, 1931, in Camden, NJ, to the late Peter and Lillian (nee Damico) Maranca.
Preziosa attended Georgian Court College and began her career as an elementary school teacher at St. Paul's School in Highland Park, NJ, before transitioning to a role as a secretary for the Science Department at JP Stevens High School in Edison, NJ.
On October 3, 1953, Preziosa married the love of her life, Sebastian. Together, they raised their beloved daughter, Donna. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, Casey and Michael, and three great-grandchildren, Josie, Sebastian, and Nash, who brought her immense joy.
With a creative spirit and a passion for art, Preziosa received several awards for her paintings. She generously shared her talents by teaching ceramics to both children and adults. In her leisure time, she enjoyed baking and making candy for her friends and family. Above all, Preziosa cherished the moments spent with her beloved family.
Preziosa was preceded in death by her dear husband, Sebastian Rapisarda; her parents, Peter and Lillian Maranca; her in-laws; and her siblings.
She will be forever remembered by her devoted daughter, Donna McDede, and her husband Mike; her grandchildren, Casey Burd and her husband Ryan, and Michael McDede and his wife Carly; her great-grandchildren, Josie Burd, Sebastian Burd, and Nash Burd; her brother-in-law, Lawrence Rapisarda, and his wife Barbara; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
All services were held privately at this time
