Joseph R. Rapisarda, affectionately known as Joe Rap, Puffy, and PopPop, brought laughter to our lives with the same skill and enthusiasm he applied to every wooden plank he ever turned into a masterpiece. Born on October 26, 1942, in Lawrence, MA, Joe packed up his toolbox for the last time and rode his Harley to the sky on July 7, 2024, in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Joe's life was a blueprint of adventure, humor, and wisdom. A proud graduate of Evander Childs High School, he could crack a joke as effortlessly as he cracked a smile. Joe's hands were rarely still, spending over four decades as a boiler mechanic and eventually becoming the successful business owner of Systems 2000 and Excel Heating.
Joe left behind his beloved wife, Sandra and his children: Karen, Kim, Big Joe, Mark, Darin, Nikki, Juliet, and Jaimi, as well as many grandchildren. In his children he left a slice of humor, ensuring that his legacy of laughter will continue for generations.
Describing Joe in words is anything but simple but funny, wise, & adventurous is amongst them. He was a skilled carpenter and could often be found straddling his Harley Davidson, the wind in his hair and a mischievous look in his eye.
His spirit, a blend of humor and heart, will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As the curtain falls on his final act, we bid farewell to a man who touched the lives of so many.
So, here's to Joseph R. Rapisarda: a true original who will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the laughter he brought into this world. Ride on, Joe.
