Priscilla Shellito Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory - Downtown Suffolk on Dec. 27, 2025.
Priscilla Rogers Shellito, 79 of Suffolk, VA passed away December 21, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Lucille Johnson Rogers. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert C. Shellito; her brother, Timothy Rogers; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Allen.
Priscilla enjoyed crafting and puzzling. She enjoyed all of the animals in nature, but was especially fond of watching the birds outside of her window. She loved Jesus and didn't hesitate to let everyone know this. She loved her dog, Daisy, and took great solace in the company she provided. She also dearly loved her family and her favorite moments were those spent with them – playing cards, family gatherings, traveling, or cooking hot dogs over a fire in the back yard.
Priscilla was the matriarch of a very large and deeply connected family. She devoted her life to building and nurturing the relationships that held that family together. She was a beacon of love, hope, and resilience-someone whose presence made others feel seen, valued, and safe. Through her example, she taught us to love deeply and freely, to forgive quickly and often, and to always try to see the world through the eyes of others. Her legacy lives on in the strength of our bonds and in the love we continue to share. The values she instilled in us continue to guide our lives, and her love will always be the foundation of our family.
The family left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert C. Shellito II and his wife, Syble; Deborah S. McDermott; and Kathy S. Anderson and her husband, John; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a brother, James Shellito II.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Monday, December 29, 2025 at Great Fork Baptist Church cemetery, with Pastor Fred Gray officiating. After the service, the family would like to gather with friends and family in Priscilla's home for fellowship and refreshments. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
