Priscilla A. Simpson, 74, of Kewanee, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at Kewanee Care Home. Priscilla was born September 18, 1949, in Kewanee, the daughter of Peter and Darlene (DeBord) Begyn. She attended and graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1967; she also attended Black Hawk College. Priscilla married Steve L. Simpson on November 6, 1971, in Kewanee; he survives.
Priscilla is also survived by one goddaughter, Coessa Renee Rusk, and her children, Thalia Padilla, Eliana Rusk, all of Kewanee; cousin, Nolan Bender, Racine, WI; and good friend, Debbie Rusk, Kewanee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Peter (Sadie DeSmit) Begyn Sr.; maternal grandparents, Homer (Minnie Calcutt) DeBord; paternal uncles, Henie, John, Edward Begyn; paternal aunts, Mary and Marjorie; maternal aunts, Doris (Kenneth) Porter, Dorothy (Hayden) Bengston; Eva (Bill) Bender, Eleanor Scheck, and cousins, Karen (Ted) Countryman, Loretta Gutschlag, and Merril Bender.
Priscilla worked as a sales associate at Porter Family Shoe Store for 27 years. She also worked for the Annawan Gas Station and Osco Drug/CVS. Priscilla enjoyed playing on her tablet. She collected pig figurines. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Priscilla especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will Sunday, July 28, 2024, from 12:30 - 3:30 pm, at Flemish American Club. Burial will take place at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Please leave an online condolence for Priscilla's family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
