Procopio Chirco

Procopio Chirco, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Beloved husband of Phyllis for 63 cherished years. Devoted father of Giovanna (Jim) Geromette, Nicolina (Ken) Kraft and Ann Marie (Will) Oldford. Proud grandfather of Katie (Ben), Jenna (Mike), Daniel (Hansol), Robert, Amy (Brett), Theresa, William and Victoria. Loving great-grandfather of Reagan, Emerson, Luca and one more precious blessing on the way. Dear brother of the late Giovanna (the late Vito), Nancy (the late Giuseppe), Rosalia (the late Frank) and Paula (the late Bill). Procopio is also loved and missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Procopio was born in Cinisi, Sicily, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life. He carried with him a deep pride in his heritage, traditions and faith. A longtime and proud member of the San Giuseppe Club and the Societa Santa Fara di Cinisi – Detroit, he valued the friendships and community he found there. Known for his strength, kindness and devotion to family, Procopio lived a life rooted in love and hard work, always placing his family first.

Visitation for Procopio will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, located at 13650 Fifteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights. He will lie in state on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, located at 31555 Hoover Avenue in Warren. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation or to the charity of your choice.

Procopio will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he gave so freely and the legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of all who knew him.
