Prophet Amir Thomas- Applin was born in Columbus, Ohio. The son of Patrika Thomas and Paul Applin. He graduated from Dublin Scioto High School in May of 2024. He recently graduated from The Empowered construction trades program and was excited about his future.
Prophet had a love for all genes of music you never knew if you would hear 90’s R&B or rap coming from his room at any time. He also had a passion for writing and recording his own music. His first love was WWE as a child and his favorite wrestler was Jon Cena. Jon Cena was famous for his mantra “Never give up.” His interest in WWE may have gone away but we maintained the saying in our home to “Never give up”.
As a child Prophet would always link up with the local youth church group in the area, most recently Young Life Columbus. With Young Life he was able to attend beautiful and exciting camps such as Timber Wolf Lake in Michigan. During this time, he was able to discover his own connection with God in a way that he could relate. He had an adventurous spirit and loved to help plan our next big trip.
Prophet was an expert on sports data and could tell you specifics about top players and everything about their career. Prophet had a smooth, easy presence about himself and never seemed to be in a rush to do anything. He was caring with a heart of gold and had the most beautiful smile.
Prophet was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and devoted friend, who will be sadly missed. Prophet is proceeded in death by his great grandfather Willie B Draughon Sr and grandmother, Delphine” Judy” Cooper.
Prophet leaves to cherish his memory: loving mother, Patrika Thomas; father, Paul Applin: brothers, Paul Applin Jr. and Brandon Applin; sisters, Brettnee Applin, Ashanti Applin, Marissa Applin, Heavenly Applin and Leveahe Applin; grandfathers, Bruce (Frances) Thomas and James (Alverda) Applin Sr; grandmother, Paula Applin; uncles, Jakahn Thomas, Maurice Thomas, James Applin Jr; aunt, Mary Applin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
