Prudence Cathway Keller Bruno

Prudence Cathway Keller Bruno passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her children on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. She was 76 years of age and a native and long- time resident of Gretna, Louisiana. Daughter of the late Willard Hartley Keller and late Verna Matthews Keller of Gretna, Louisiana. Survived by her son Brett Michael Bruno (Carol Painter Bruno) and her daughter Heather Bruno Dougherty (Marc C. Dougherty). Brother James John Keller. Grandchildren Michael Paul Bruno, Mallory Marie Bruno, Carlin Marguerite Dougherty, Marc C. Dougherty, Jr., and Dennis Heath Dougherty. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Ms. Bruno was a graduate of Redemptorist High School in New Orleans' Irish Channel (Class of 1964). She was a proud member of the RHS Ramettes and Queen of the Krewe of Grela in 1963 and 1964. She was a devoted mother, profoundly loving grandmother (Yaya), and friend to many. "Ms. Pru" or "Prudy", as she was affectionately known, owned and operated the Pru Bruno School of Dance on the Westbank for 30 years but she is now unquestionably tapping for a higher audience in Heaven. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway in Harvey on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at the Mothe Funeral Home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association, the Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
