Lorraine Lagarde Burgdahl passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 3, 1950.
She was the sister of Gregg Lagarde; the aunt of Brittni and Michelle Lagarde; and the great-aunt of Iris Malaki-Lagarde. She was born to the late Lorraine and Charles Lagarde, Jr. She is also survived by her siblings Charlie, Bernadette, Adele, Carmelette, and Jude, as well as many wonderful lifelong friends.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and a proud resident of Gretna, Louisiana, for over 50 years, Lorraine graduated from Nicholls High School in 1968. After high school, she worked in the Jefferson Parish school system for many years. She later worked proudly as a Judicial Secretary in the 5th District Court of Appeals.
Lorraine prided herself on being a great friend, a devoted godmother, and a loving sister. She enjoyed spending time gardening and crafting; however, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. She loved to go shopping, plan holiday events, and give to the people she loved. She made friends everywhere she went and loved sharing her stories and memories with those around her. Being from New Orleans and keeping traditions were sources of great pride for her. She always wanted to put a smile on the faces of those around her. Her spirit and tender nature will live on in the many memories cherished by her family and friends until they meet her again.
Please consider sharing a kind memory of Lorraine with her family and friends.
